Explore Terceira island

Terceira Island is the reason why it is said that the Azores are “eight islands and an amusement park”, such is the number of festivals and celebrations that take place there throughout the year. Together with São Jorge, Faial, Pico and Graciosa, Terceira is part of the central group of the Azorean archipelago, of which it is the second most inhabited island.

Terceira is distinguished from the other Azorean islands by the impressive variety of its volcanic elements. It has unique biodiversity characteristics, such as the largest patch of virgin forest in the Azores and the largest Natural Park in the archipelago, with 20 protected areas.
